Tribunal to review expiry of duties on thermoelectric containers from China

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its finding concerning the dumping and subsidizing of certain thermoelectric containers from China. The Tribunal's finding, in December 2008, imposed anti-dumping and countervailing duties on these goods.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by March 29, 2019, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping and/or subsidizing of the goods if the finding is left to expire.

In the event of positive determinations by the Agency, the Tribunal will determine, by September 5, 2019, whether the continued or resumed dumping and/or subsidizing is likely to result in injury to Canadian manufacturers.
