Shippers' ground transportation costs in Canada up 2.0%

The Base Rate Index, which excludes the impact of accessorial charges assessed by carriers, increased by 2.3% in August.

Average fuel surcharges assessed by carriers decreased during the month. Fuel was 17.80% of Base Rates in August versus 19.35% in July.
