U.S. sets punitive duties on large welded pipe from Canada and five other countries
The U.S. Department of Commerce announced its affirmative preliminary determination in the antidumping duty investigations of imports of large diameter welded pipe from Canada, China, Greece, India, Korea, and Turkey.
The Department calculated a preliminary dumping rate of 24.38 percent on pipe from Canada. Preliminary dumping rates for the other five countries range from 3.45 to 132.63 percent.
As a result of the preliminary affirmative determination, the Commerce Department will instruct U.S. Customs and Border Protection to require cash deposits based on the preliminary rates.
The petitioners for this investigation are American manufacturers located in five different states.
