Tribunal to review expiry of duties on oil and gas well casing from China
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its finding concerning the dumping and/or subsidizing of certain seamless carbon or alloy steel oil and gas well casing originating in or exported from China. The Tribunal's finding, in March 2008, imposed anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties on these goods. The finding was continued, with amendment, in March 2013.
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by June 18, 2018, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping and/or subsidizing of the goods if the finding is left to expire.
In the event of positive determinations by the Agency, the Tribunal will determine, by November 26, 2018, whether the continued or resumed dumping and/or subsidizing is likely to result in injury to Canadian manufacturers.
