CBSA issues dumping determination on PET resin from China, India, Oman and Pakistan
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) made preliminary determinations of dumping and subsidizing with respect to certain polyethylene terephthalate resin (PET resin) originating in or exported from China, India, Oman and Pakistan.
Provisional duties at rates of up to 76.7% are now payable on the subject goods that are released from customs on or after November 16, 2017.
It should be noted that the amounts of subsidy in respect of exporters OCTAL SOAZ FZC (Oman) and Novatex Limited (Pakistan) are insignificant and that no provisional countervailing duties are payable on those exporters' subject goods.
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal will now formally determine if the dumping is causing prejudice to Canadian industry.
