Tribunal to review expiry of duties on steel piling pipe from China

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal initiated an expiry review of its finding concerning the dumping and subsidizing of certain carbon and alloy steel pipe piles, commonly identified as piling pipe, originating in or exported from China. The Tribunal's finding, in November 2012, imposed anti-dumping and countervailing duties on these goods.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) will determine, by January 25, 2018, if there is a likelihood of resumed or continued dumping and/or subsidizing of the goods if the finding is left to expire.

In the event of positive determinations by the Agency, the Tribunal will determine, by July 4, 2018, whether the continued or resumed dumping and/or subsidizing is likely to result in injury to Canadian manufacturers.
