U.S. withdraws NAFTA appeal of Canadian anti-dumping duties on gypsum board
The American corporations which filed a request for a NAFTA Panel Review concerning the imposition by Canada of anti-dumping duty on imports of gypsum from the United States have withdrawn their requests.
The original demand for a panel review had been filed on February 6, 2017 with the Canadian Section of the NAFTA Secretariat, pursuant to Article 1904 of the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Following the withdrawals the binational panel review of the final determination made by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, respecting "Certain Gypsum Board Originating in or Exported from the United States of America", was terminated effective July 13, 2017.
Chapter 19 of the North American Free Trade Agreement establishes a procedure for replacing domestic judicial review of determinations in anti-dumping and countervailing duty cases involving imports from a NAFTA country with review by binational panels.
