According to the Federal Bridge Corporation, who is in charge of the project, phase one involved:
demolition of the old primary-inspection-lanes, main CBSA traffic and commercial buildings and their ancillary operational spaces;
construction of new traffic and commercial primary-inspection-lanes, an integrated traffic and commercial building and ancillary operational spaces, including lease space for brokers and Nexus operations;

construction of a small utility service building incorporating power and communication distribution, bridge operations, maintenance and storage.
Phase two of the project including the demolition of the existing traffic building, construction of six remaining traffic primary-inspection-lanes and construction of the staff parking lot is planned to be completed for December 2017.
