Statistics and facts on imports of goods subject to anti-dumping duties

Under the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) anti-dumping or countervailing duty can be applied to dumped or subsidized imports following a decision by the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) that such imports are causing injury to Canadian industry.

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) monitors and reviews imports that may be subject to the CITT's decisions and applies anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties as necessary.

Information about the goods currently subject to anti-dumping and/or countervailing duty is provided in detail on the CBSA's website to help importers comply with the CITT's decisions.

The CBSA has now added information about actual imports of the impacted goods. A web page lists the quantities monitored in 2014 and 2015, the value of imports subject to the special duties, and the amount of duty collected. Additional comments are also provided about general compliance, goods that are excluded because of value, proportions of non-subject goods, etc.
