CBSA issues dumping determination on industrial steel components from 3 countries

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) made a preliminary determination of dumping with respect to certain fabricated industrial steel components originating in or exported from China, Korea and Spain, as well as a preliminary determination of subsidizing concerning the same goods from China.

The Agency found no significant dumping and terminated the investigation in respect of the above mentioned goods originating in or exported from the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

Provisional duties at rates of up to 54.5% will now be payable on the subject goods from China, Korea and Spain that are released from customs on or after January 25, 2017.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal will now formally determine if the dumping and subsidizing are causing prejudice to Canadian industry and will announce its decision on May 25, 2017.

The investigations are the result of a complaint filed by Canadian manufacturers in Quebec and Alberta.
