June 25, 2010 Anti-dumping decisions on bell peppers, refined sugar, laminate flooring On June 21, 2010, the President of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) made a preliminary determination of dumping in respect of greenhouse bell peppers originating in or exported from the Netherlands. The goods in question are commonly classified under the following Tariff classification number 0709.60.90.10 Provisional duty is payable on the subject goods that are released from the CBSA on or after June 21, 2010. - - - - - - - - - -
As a result, the President of the CBSA initiated an investigation on February 18, 2010, to determine whether the expiry of the orders is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and/or subsidizing of the goods. The investigation has now been completed and, on June 17, 2010, the President of the CBSA determined that the expiry of the orders is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and subsidizing of the goods. The Tribunal will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of the orders is likely to result in injury or retardation to the Canadian industry, and will make a decision by November 1, 2010. - - - - - - - - - - The Canadian International Trade Tribunal announced in September 2009 that its finding concerning laminate flooring originating in or exported from China and France would expire in June 2010. Consequently, anti-dumping and countervailing duties are no longer payable on the subject goods released by the CBSA on or after June 15, 2010. |
