June 10, 2010 CBSA reinvestigates values of pipe fittings and coolers/warmers from China The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) announced that it has initiated a re-investigation of the normal values and export prices, of certain carbon steel pipe fittings, originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China The fittings in question are defined as certain carbon steel pipe nipples and adaptor fittings, in nominal diameters up to and including 6 inches or the metric equivalents. The CBSA has also initiated a re-investigation of the normal values, export prices and amounts of subsidy of certain thermoelectric coolers and warmers originating in or exported from the People's Republic of China. The subject goods are described as certain thermoelectric containers that provide cooling and/or warming with the use of a passive heat sink and a thermoelectric module, excluding liquid dispensers. Importers and exporters of the goods in question were, or will soon be, invited by the CBSA to submit relevant information for each reinvestigation. Both re-investigations are part of the CBSA's ongoing enforcement of Canadian International Trade Tribunal findings of material injury. The findings resulted in the imposition of anti-dumping and/or countervailing duties on the subject goods. Further details are available on the CBSA's website: Carbon steel pipe fittings from China - Notice of Re-investigation of the normal values and export prices.
